14 Things We Can’t Wait To See Happen In Game Of Thrones...with Pictures
1.Bran Stark
Bran Stark is turning out to be one of the most
haunted characters in the series. His visions raise
more questions than we can list. In season 4,
Meera Reed tells Bran “if we lose you, we lose
everything.” With is powers growing both strong
and stranger, which became evident when he
Eddard Stark’s past self heard Bran him calling
out at the Tower of Joy, the importance of his
role in the approaching war seems to become
increasingly profound. This also became evident
when Hodor’s breakdown clued us into Bran’s
ability to change the past. We still don’t know the
extent of his powers, whether he can actually
travel through time, control minds, etc.
Understanding his visions will be one of the most
revealing breakthroughs in the series.
2. Daenerys Targaryn
Daenerys Targaryn obtains an army of slaves called the unsullied at Astapor, where we learn she has the ability to speak at least a few languages. After surviving two fires, the second at Dosh Khaleen, her destiny in Westeros seems evident. After reuniting with Jorah Mormont and Daario Naharis, she will be heading back to Meereen to assume her command. With Drogon missing, and her remaining dragons released into the wild by Tyrion, fans will be awaiting their inevitable return. We have an idea why Daenerys chooses to stay in Meereen, but we don’t know how long she plans to settle in for. For now, the city seems to be growing restless in her absence, and Tyrion’s efforts to maintain peace may be unsuccessful.
3. Jon Snow
After Jon Snow’s rise to Lord of the Night’s
Watch, survive the massacre of his family, and
especially now that he has survived his own
execution, we all knew or at least hoped he was
destined for something (preferably to lead an
army into Winterfell). Now that he’s alive and
apparently a key player in the series, we’re hoping
he’ll take Winterfell and figure out a way to
destroy the Whitewalkers. One of the most
pinnacle moments in season 6 was the reunion of
Jon Snow and his half-sister, Sansa Stark. Will
they gather an army to reclaim their home? We
hope so. Jon doesn’t seem to have any desire to
seek out war, but with Rickon kidnapped and
Sansa’s remarks that about taking back the
north, he appears to concede. Later he is seen
making plans to gather an army adequate for a
proper siege.
4. Tyrion Lannister
Tyrion Lannister has been a pivotal player in The
Game of Thrones since we met him in the first
season. He came dangerously close to execution
in season 5, was betrayed by his lover, and he
murdered his father. Now, after sailing across the
ocean, he is thriving in Meereen as advisory to
Daenarys. For now, Tyrion has a plan brooding in
Meereen, and we’re anxious to see how it
unfolds. For now, his negotiations seem to be
leading the city toward a temporary solace, but
you have to wonder how long the reformed slaves
of Meereen will stand this unwarranted
compromise.
5. Cersei Lannister
Cersei Lannister lost a son, was imprisoned by the Faith, and now she learns her daughter was murdered in Dorm. We know she is planning to wage war against the High Sparrow, which was revealed in episode 5. Her plan is to allow the Mace Tyrell to bring an army into the city to subdue the religious “fanatics” without a struggle, a decision prompted by Tommon’s confession. Given her history with the Tyrells, whatever Cersei is planning will certainly mean demise for Margaery, Olenna, and Loras. Any notion of Cersei’s belief in an easily subdued Faith Militant is a doubtful one, especially after Jaime’s first- hand account of the High Sparrow’s willingness to die.
6. Arya Stark
Arya Stark watched her family slaughtered, escaped captivity, endured blindness, and all for what? Apparently revenge, and after a slightly revealing season 5, we know she has a list with 13 names on it. When the “Red Woman” met Arya Stark, she admitted to foreseeing eyes Arya would shut forever and the two of them would meet again. When will we find out if these eyes belong to the names on her list, and what will happen when she meets the Red Woman (who brought Jon Stark back from the dead) again? Arya seems to have lost part of her former self, consumed by her desire for revenge. After watching her murder Ser Meryn Trant, from who she sought revenge for violently assaulting Sansa (at Joffrey’s command). Right now she is tasked to murder an actress who played Cersei, over which she seems to be conflicted. Will she follow through and if she does, what will that mean for her?
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER.
7. High Sparrow
Part of the High Sparrow’s story has been reveal, including his desire for a city washed of it’s sin and corruption. With the help of Cersei’s disastrous attempt to dethrone Margaery, he has been at work setting himself against profile members of the court. Does he have plans to bring civil war into the city, overthrow the Lannisters, and seize power for himself, or does he simply want to put an end to the evil that has plagued the Casterly Rock. Having given up his desires for conventional possessions, he doesn’t have any ambitions for the crown or nobility, but his desire for revolution makes him as dangerous as any conquering invaders.
8. Lord Varys
Lord Varys played his cards at house Lannister, having a hand in the events that led to Ned Stark’s death. He appears to be manufacturing some sort of disruption within the seven kingdoms, although he claims to be in pursuit of its best interest. If he has no desire for power, what exactly is he up to? An alliance forms between Tyrion and himself, which is briefly interrupted by Tyrion’s trial, at which betrayed the former Hand of the King. He aided Tyrion in his escape, and has firmly established his position at Daenerys’ side.
9. Jorah Mormont
What will happen to Jorah Mormont? He has stood by the Queen of Dragons, serving her relentlessly. After being banished, he stubbornly rushes to her aid. Now that grayscale threatens an unwanted transformation, is his time coming to an end Khaleesi has ordered him to search for a cure. After he finally revealed his feelings for her, which was one of her more vulnerable scenes, we know his story is far from over.
10. Theon Greyjoy
Now that Theon Greyjoy forfeited his home and fled with his sister and a fleet of soldiers, his destiny seems as unclear as any. He has undoubtedly regained a part of his former self, which means he could be rushing into battle at some point, but with whom? We don’t know if he plans to square off against Euron, try to join Sansa and Jon Snow, or seek out revenge against Ramsay.
11. Melisandre
Melisandre’s faith seems diminished after Brienne of Tarth executed Stannis Baratheon, who she claimed would take the iron throne. In the first episode, we see a timider Melisandre than the one we had grown to hate in season 5. Her faith becomes rekindled as she hangs her hopes on Jon Snow, but can her predictions be trusted after failing tragically during Stannis Baratheon’s rule?
12. Jaime Lannister
Jaime Lannister debuted as a villain, after his shameless attempt on Bran Stark’s life, and we hated him for it. So maybe he deserved to lose his hand, but the show continues to dissolve any notions of morality’s triumph over evil. His time with Brienne of Tarth revealed him in a more rational light, further demonstrating the good an evil that exists in many of the characters. Some fans are expecting the two to cross paths again, but with everything that is transpiring in Casterly Rock and his knack for close calls, who knows if his final struggle will be against the Faith Militant. NEXT
13. Tommen Boratheon
Tommen Boratheon significance in The Game of Thrones is undetermined and many fans are already predicting his death. Throughout the series, he has shown us his more reluctant side. He was seen, for a moment, standing against the High Sparrow, and then he quickly simmered down. Tommen seems to lack many of the negative qualities of his successors, having a desire to be noble and strong, but his is loyal to Cersei Lannister, a characteristic that could mean his downfall. We’ll just have to wait to see if he develops the courage to reclaim Margaery from the Faith Militant
14. Margaery Tyrell
Margaery Tyrell, who cleverly manipulated her way into the hearts of two kings, has been taken prisoner by the High priest for her role in hiding her brother’s indiscretions. The event was planned and executed by Cersei in an impromptu attempt to separate Margaery from her Tommen and the throne. Last we saw, she was still imprisoned, expected to make her “walk of atonement” which she doggedly refuses. The High Sparrow, in his attempts to save her and the city, may have collaborated in the destruction of both.
